Discovering the world with positivity and curiosity: Aimée’s story of finding a true second home in Munich.
Aimée ended up in Munich by coincidence. Arriving at the age of 19, Aimée had to learn many things from scratch pushing herself out of her comfort zone. Originally from Ecuador, she didn’t know the German language nor did she have friends or family in the country. Everything was completely new, but Aimee was always persistent and giving up was not an option. She has always been a very hands-on, passionate person with everything she does. As a child, Aimee was always very determined, competitive and ready for more. “I really think that this is how I have been able to go around the world and deal with any adversity that came my way.” Aimée always longed for a place where she could showcase her abilities while also keeping in touch with her creative side and staying true to herself.

“As much as Munich feels like home, so does Alasco. It is so great to be in an environment where we all support each other.” Munich was not always home for her. It was quite hard for Aimée to adapt to a place so different from what she knew. After graduating from college, the friends she had made and the community she had built fell away because her peers went back home. Eventually, Aimée began to see the beauty and kindness hidden in unexpected places as well as the support the community has for each other. Now it is a place where she feels safe, it is a place that has seen her grow. Munich will always be her home base, no matter where she goes.
Aimée joined Alasco as an International Expansion Manager with the ambition to do better and be better, to keep learning, growing and improving. In her position, she attaches importance to that while Alasco expands in other countries its culture, its values, always keeping Munich in its heart.
